Edged Weaponry and Jewelry
With the "flavor" of the Highlands
Eilen Donan Castle...This is the ancestral home of the Clan McRae, way
north in the misty western highlands of Scotland. Where the mountainous terrain, the forbidding weather, the strict adherance to tradition,  made for a people hardy and strong; a people given to quick laughter and equally quick bursts of temper.

It is from these beginnings that the dirk became the edged side arm carried universally in the days when the Clan system ruled the highlands. It is from this tradition that I come. The concessions I make to the craft of knifemaking are few: I forge my blades from high carbon, non-stainless steels  and I use modern heat-treating methods to get the most out of a given piece of steel that it can potentially yield. The forms and the feel of my knives would be at home in the hand of a highland warrior of days long gone. The dirks are light and quick, the sgians more decorative, but still "live" blades and deadly. Baskethilt swords are an extension of the arm.

My blades are hand forged, and differentially heat treated to give a hard edge and a strong but flexible back. The handle carvings are authentic and traditional, carved in hardwoods or ivory. Some are mounted with stag.

Please. Look around, and enjoy.
