Eilean Donan Castle...The ancestral home of the Clan McRae, way north in the western highlands of Scotland. Where the mountainous terrain, forbidding weather and the strict adherence to tradition made for a people hardy and strong;  a people given to quick laughter, and equally quick bursts of temper. It is from this past that I come. And from this tradition come the knives I make.

I am a bladesmith. The concessions that I make to knifemaking are few:  Only high carbon, non-stainless steels are used, and modern heat treating methods are employed to bring out the best performance that a given piece of steel can yield. Broadswords, dirks and sgian dubhs become an extension of the body, and are truly "live" blades.

Ceud Mille Failte!
(A hundred thousand welcomes!)
As of 1 April 2021 I will no longer be accepting orders.
(I have no more knives left in stock, but watch this site
because I will be making a few knives in the future and
they will be announced here.)
Because of the Covid-19 virus I am now retired.
Thanks to one and all who have supported me through
the years.
It's been a great ride, and I am sure to miss it.

Mike
